KHULNA, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces arrested seven members of a gambling gang along with Tk 3.5 lakh from the Daulatpur area of the city last night.
Acting on a tip-off, a team comprising army and police personnel conducted a raid at a residence in the South Senpara area under Daulatpur Police Station, said Md Ahsan Habib, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of KMP.
The team arrested Swadhin Sheikh alias Kashem Sheikh, Anwar Hossain alias Anu, Zakir Hossain, Palash Gazi, Khaja Munsi, Sheikh Abu Taleb, and Shah Alam Gazi from the residence.
The joint forces also seized Tk 3,56,920 in gambling money and 49 sets of playing cards from their possession.
A case was filed with Daulatpur Police Station in this connection.
The arrestees were sent to jail after being produced before the court today.
