Huge protest for Gaza genocide in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 7, 2025 (BSS)- Students organisations and activists of 
different political parties and professional leaders have staged huge 
protests and demonstrations for the genocide in Gaza terming it barbaric.
 
Students of different schools, colleges and universities, including Rajshahi 
University (RU) and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), 
formed human chain and held protest processions and rallies, demanding 
immediate stop of the ongoing genocide and mass destruction in Gaza.

Several protest marches were held at different locations in the city 
condemning Israel's brutal attacks on Palestinians in Gaza and expressing 
solidarity with its people.

A large number of people consisting of different political parties staged a 
demonstration and held meeting at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point vehemently 
condemning the genocide.

The speakers criticised the silence of Islamic nations and international 
bodies. The demonstrations ended with vows to resist oppression, promote 
awareness, and sever ties with supporters of Israel's actions.

In Rajshahi University, students, teachers, and staff held a solidarity rally 
in support of the people of Palestine.

The rally began around 11am on the university's Paris Road and continued 
until noon. Organised by various student and teacher groups, the protest 
attracted a large crowd chanting slogans condemning the Israeli attacks.
 
Participants carried Palestinian flags and banners, calling for an immediate 
end to what they described as genocide.
 
Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib, Pro-VCs Prof Main Uddin 
and Farid Uddin Khan and Prof Masudul Hassan Khan of the Department of 
Biochemistry, among others, addressed the protest.
