Thousands rally in Rangpur protesting Israeli aggression in Gaza

RANGPUR, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - Like rest of the country, thousands of people in Rangpur protested today against Israel's aggression in Gaza, massacre and human rights violation.
 
Protesters marches and arranged solidarity rallies across the city until the evening, calling upon Muslim Ummah to boycott Israeli goods and come together to protect Gaza and liberate Palestine.
 
People gathered at the Rangpur Town Hall square at 10 am with banners, placards and Palestinian flags tied to their heads and bodies, chanting slogans calling for a boycott of Israeli products, not attacking Gaza, and for an independent Palestine. 

With passing of time, the number of protesters increased as students from various schools and colleges, teachers, Madrasa students and teachers, artists, poets, political leaders and professional people joined.
 
Officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices and various organizations also showed solidarity and joined the protest rally.  

Rangpur Town Hall square turned into a massive public gathering around 11 am. Then, an hour-long road blockade and a protest rally were held there.  

Leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, M Rahamat Ali, Motawakkil Billah Shah Fakir, Rajimuzzaman Hridoy, Adnan, Taha Rahman, Senior Joint Convener of Metropolitan Jubo Dal Jahir Alam Nayan, SUJAN activist Khandaker Fakhrul Anam Benzu and students from various educational institutions spoke. 

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, ordinary worshippers from Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque and Jamaat-e-Islami district and metropolitan leaders from Sadar Hospital Jam-e-Mosque premises took out protest marches in the city. 

Later, Khatib of Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque Hafez Moulana Md. Bayezid Hussaine conducted special munajats seeking divine blessings for the Palestinian martyrs and to protect the holy Aqsa Mosque and Palestine.
