31 arrested over vandalism, looting Bata show room, others in Khulna

KHULNA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested 31 people during drives last night from different areas in the city on a charge of vandalizing and looting Bata showroom, Domino's Pizza and KFC outlets.

Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Md Ahsan Habib told BSS, analyzing close circuit cameras (CCTV) and video footage, Sonadanga police arrested them in a whole night drive last night.

On Monday evening, a section of people vandalized Bata show room at the Shibbari intersection, Domino's pizza and KFC outlets at the Dalmil intersection on KDA Avenue Road in the city while a protest procession paraded the streets after holding a demonstration expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza in response to a global call for a strike and agitation on April 7.

A case was filed today.

The arrested will be produced before the Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Court with remand prayers, he added.
