CHATTOGRAM, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - Participants at a meeting here today called upon all concerned including government officials, civil society representatives, volunteer organizations and affluent section of the society to come forward and work together for building a just-based discrimination free society.
They made the call at the first meeting of Chattogram Foundation (CF) to discuss to finalize its constitution and work procedure was held at conference room of Deputy Commissioner Office on Tuesday morning.
The CF has been launched under auspices of Chattogram district administration to undertake and promote various types of social welfare-oriented initiatives, combat social vices by creating awareness programs as well as to encourage innovative ideas in the sectors like education, science, social advancement and poverty alleviation.
Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanon presided over the function which participated by senior officials from several government departments, representatives from civil society, media and volunteer organizations and student representatives.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Chattogram Sadi Ur Rahman Zadid made a presentation on primary formulation of CF, draft constitution and its functions before the meeting.
Taking part in the discussion, the participants gave their suggestions on various aspects of the constitution and work procedure of the CF to make the organization a vibrant and sustainable one so that it could achieve its desired goal with the involvement and joint efforts by public and private organizations.
ADC (General) Md Kamruzzaman, ADC (LA) Md. Morshed and ADC (ICT) Shorif Uddin, journalists Zahidul Karim Kachi and Mohammed Shah Nowaz, among others, took part in the discussion.
DC Farida Khanon in her concluding remarks called upon all to put best efforts and work sincerely for advancement and welfare of the society so that the CF can create example as an effective platform for philanthropic work before other parts of the country.
