KHULNA, April 20, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested five individuals from different areas on Friday (April 18) in connection with the killing of an Easy Bike driver in Khulna last month.

Md Khairul Anam, Additional Superintendent of Police, said two police teams carried out drives in Chattogram, Jashore, and Khulna, and arrested five suspects over the killing of Mohidul Shaikh alias Milon, 38, an Easy Bike driver.

The arrestees are Shariful Sheikh, 45, Md Rafsan, 24, Md Enam, 23, Md Gafur Fakir, 43, and Monjurul Sarder, 42.

On March 13, Milon's decomposed body was recovered from an orchard beside the bank of the Vadra River in the Uttar Govindakathi area of Dumuria upazila in the district.

A case was filed next day with Dumuria Police Station in this connection.

Khairul Anam said police launched an operation to track down the accused involved in the clueless murder. He added that the arrestees gave confessional statements before a Magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) today.

According to their confessions, on March 13, Rafsan and Enam rented Milon's Easy Bike from the Atharomile kitchen market area. When the vehicle reached the Govindakathi Eidgah area, Shariful and Monjurul-who had been waiting there-got into the vehicle and strangled Milon.

Later, the four sold the Easy Bike to another accused, Gafur Fakir, according to the confessional statements.
