GAIBANDHA, April 21, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration has provided health cards to around 200 injured persons in July Uprising to facilitate them in availing healthcare services from government institutions free of cost.

Deputy Commissioner Choudhury Muazzam Ahmed handed over the cards among the July heroes and their some close relatives at a function at district collectorate building on Sunday afternoon as the chief guest.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Nishat Angella attended the event as the special guest, while senior police and district administration officials were also present.

Md. Aminul Islam, a July-August injured, said he sustained 30 bullet wounds during the uprising. With the help of Shahid Ziaur Rahman Foundation, he was later admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the bullets were removed in three separate surgeries.

Though all bullets were removed, he has been living with severe pain, he added.

He expressed his gratitude to the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus for providing health cards that will help them access necessary healthcare facilities.
