Two shops fined Tk 50 thousand in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, April 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) today fined two pharmacy shops Tk 50,000 during a raid in Valaipur bazaar of the district. 

Monir Pharmacy, owned by Monirul Haq, was fined Tk 25,000 for selling expired medicines and storing them improperly and Rokeya Dental Care, owned by Abul Kalam Azad, was fined Tk 25,000 for conducting business using false information. 

Mamunur Rahman, Assistant Director of the District Consumer Rights Protection Directorate said, “The raid was conducted in Valaipur Bazar under Sadar Upazila of the district based on secret information. During the operation, essential goods and medicine shops were examined.”

However, the owners of both establishments have been instructed to resolve the identified issues and conduct business properly.
