KHAGRACHARI, May 1, 2025 (BSS) - The historic May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025 were observed today in Khagrachari in a befitting manner.

This year's theme was "Sramik Malik Ek Hoye, Gorbo E Desh Natun Kore".

To mark the occasion, the district administration and the regional office of the Ministry of Labour and Employment jointly organized a colourful rally and a discussion meeting.

The rally began from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's office and paraded the main roads of the town before concluding at the Town Hall.

A discussion was held at the Town Hall auditorium following the rally. Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Nazmun Ara Sultana presided over the event, while Deputy Commissioner ABM Iftekharul Islam Khandakar was present as the chief guest.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ferdousi Begum, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Rumana Akter, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamrul Islam, Divisional Forest Officer Md. Farid Mia, Joint Director of the District National Security Intelligence (NSI) Nasir Mahmud Gazi, President of the District Workers Welfare Federation Abdul Mannan and District BNP Organizing Secretary Abdur Rob Raja, among others, attended the event.
