RANGPUR, May 2, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested four accused killers in a murder case of easy bike (Mishuk) driver Anisur Rahman alias Thanda Mia, 36, from Gaibandha district on Thursday night.
 
The four arrestees are Md. Kabir Alam, 27, of Baniajan (Poshu Hospital Road) area and Md. Russell Mia, 28 of Thanshinpur Kachari area under Sadar upazila, Md. Shahidul Islam alias Babu, 40, of Buzruk Patanocha area and Md. Rashed Mondal, 42, of Chikram Rasulpur area under Sadullapur upazila of the district.
 
During the raids, the stolen three-wheeler easy bike of deceased Anisur, who was also a newspaper seller, was recovered from the garage of accused Md. Rashed Mondal, a press release issued here said today.

Earlier, on last April 25, unidentified miscreants stabbed Anisur Rahman with sharp weapons in front of the NESCO-1 office near the Stadium in Gaibandha district town and snatched his auto Mishuk and left the area at 4:30 am.
 
Later, the victim succumbed to the injuries at Rangpur Medical College Hospital at 8:55 pm next day. 
 
The victim's wife filed a case of robbery with murder with Gaibandha Sadar police station on April 26 in this connection. 
 
In this regard, a number of teams of RAB-13 conducted shadow investigations and were able to initially identify those involved in the case. 
 
On a tip off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 of RAB-13's Gaibandha Camp conducted separate drives in different places of Gaibandha Sadar police station area and arrested the four accused last night. 
 
Earlier, the elite force arrested one of the accused in the case, Md. Arif Mia, 27, of David Company Para area under Sadar upazila in Gaibandha on April 25 last, the release added.
 
Later, the arrested persons were handed over to Gaibandha Sadar police station today.
