NETRAKONA, May 3, 2025 (BSS) - A nine-year old boy was killed in a tragic road accident at Hirakanda in Pogla union under Kolmakanda upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Abdullah, son of Ahmed of Anantapur village in Madhyanagar upazila of Sunamganj district.

The incident occurred around 8:30am on the Kalmakanda-Netrokona road. Abdullah was struck by a truck while attempting to cross the road and died on the spot, said Md. Firoz Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Kalmakanda Police Station.

Abdullah came to visit his maternal grandfather's home along with his mother.

Police arrested the truck driver Mahmudul, 25.
