JHENAIDAH, May 3, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed in a landslide at Gaupinathpur village under Kaliganj upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Nazrul Islam, 52, son of Abdul Mannan, resident of the same village. He was the former general secretary of Trilochanpur Union Juba Dal of the upazila.

The soil of an under construction house suddenly collapsed on Nazrul around 1 pm while he was working there and he was buried under the soil, police said.

Later, local and fire service workers rushed to the spot and recovered the body. 

Station officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Fire and Civil Defence Service Rabiul Islam confirmed the matter.
