Worker drowns in river while dumping geo bags in Jhalakathi

JHALAKATHI, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - A worker drowned in the river Sugandha in 
Sadar upazila here today.

The deceased was Md. Mosleuddin Molla, 45, son of Abdul Karim Molla, a 
resident of Purba Chatla area of Dhaligar Nagar union in Lalmohan upazila of 
Bhola district.

The worker died after falling into the river while dumping geo bags with 
other workers. 

Fire Service and Civil Defense and Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) recovered the 
body from the river in front of the town's police line area around 1 am.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhalakathi Police Station Md. Moniruzzaman 
confirmed.

"Some workers were working to dump geo bags in the Sugandha River in the 
Qutubnagar area of the town. At that time, Mosleuddin slipped while dumping 
the bags and fell into the river and went missing," the OC said this morning.
