BOGURA, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - Two brothers tragically died after being struck
by lightning in the Jamuna River in Sariakandi upazila of the district today.

The deceased are Manmoth Halder, 45, and Sabuj Halder, 38, sons of Kartik
Halder of Meghai area under Kazipur upazila in Sirajganj district.

The incident took place around 3.30 pm in Devdanga Ghat area of the upazila.

"Thunderbolt struck them when they were catching fish in the river. They died
on the spot," said Jamirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sariakandi Police
Station.

Police recovered the bodies and handed those over to their family members,
the OC added.
