RANGPUR, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two accused abductors and rescued the kidnapped teenage girl of Lalmonirhat from Ashulia police station area of Dhaka district on Saturday evening.
The arrested abductors are Md. Shimul Hasan, 21, and Md. Abu Sayeed, 38, both of Uttara Chathira Hazari (Chaparhat) village under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat district," said a press release issued here tonight.
Earlier, the main accused Md. Midul Hasan with his accomplices forcibly kidnapped the girl of the same area from Kaliganj upazila town under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat after finding her alone at 9:30 am on March 26 last.
In this incident, the victim’s father filed a kidnapping case with the Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat on April 28.
Later, a joint operational team of RAB-13 from Rangpur and Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of RAB-4 in Dhaka in a raid arrested the two accused in the case from Jirani area under Ashulia police station of Dhaka district at 6.10pm on Saturday.
The elite force handed over the arrested persons along with the victim to Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat, the release mentioned.
