Two killed in truck accident in Kishoreganj

KISHOREGANJ, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - Two pedestrians were killed and ten others injured when a truck ran over them at Akbarnagar Bus Stand Bazar area on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab regional highway this morning.

The two deceased were Md Halim Mia, 60, hailed from Akbarnagar village under Bairab upazila and Angur Mia, 45, of Jagrarchar Munshibari of the same upazila. 

According to local and police sources, a Bhairab-bound wood-laden truck from Kishoreganj ran over the pedestrians around 8am at Akbarnagar Bus Stand Bazar, leaving two dead on the spot.

Besides, ten others were injured when two auto-rickshaws overturned during the accident. They were taken to different hospitals in the upazila for treatment.

Confirming the deaths, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station Md Sahabur Rahman said police recovered the bodies and sent them to the morgue.
