DHAKA, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) – Additional secretary of the Agriculture Ministry M Zakir Hossen today said agro tourism should be formed in the Sylhet region through using farm technology.
“For implementation of the agricultural project, selecting profitable crops for the farmers, development of the agriculture and raising yield and changing food habits should be preferred”, he said.
The additional secretary made the comments while exchanging views with the section chiefs of different organizations under the agriculture ministry of the Sylhet region at the Sylhet Agricultural extension office in Sylhet this morning.
The farmers should be trained up for preparing them as agriculture entrepreneurs, he said, adding that the farmers should be motivated for using organic fertilizer and organic pesticides by reducing the use of chemical fertilizer for protecting the soil health.
