Father, son held with firearm in Magura

MAGURA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - Members of a joint force today arrested a man and his son from Sreepur upazila in Magura on charges of possessing a foreign-made firearm, ammunition, and locally-made weapons.

The arrestees were identified as Munshi Abdul Kuddus, 79, and his son Munshi Jahangir, 52.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of joint force led by Bangladesh Army conducted a raid and seized the illegal arms from their possession. 

The duo was later handed over to Sreepur Police Station along with the recovered weapons. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station Idris Ali said, "They are currently in police custody. Regular cases will be filed against them."
