CHATTOGRAM, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has arrested Md Dulal, 30, who was convicted and sentenced to life term imprisonment in a rape case in Mirarsari upazila from Dhaka after seven years.

He was arrested in a raid in the Samadnagar area of Jatrabari Thana in Dhaka on Thursday night. Md Dulal, is the son of Nurul Huda, from Uttar Morgang village in Sonagazi police station in Feni district.

Dulal was accused in a rape case under the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children Act at Jorarganj thana on August 23, 2019. 

Following the trial he was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Taka one lakh. However, Dulal went into hiding after the case was filed. 

Senior Assistant Director of RAB-7 ARM Muzaffar Hossain confirmed that Dulal had been evading capture for a long time. He was arrested after a raid based on secret information. He has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
