Seasonal fruit festival held for underprivileged, street children in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - A “Seasonal Fruit Festival” featuring local fruits was organized for underprivileged and street children by the social organization Alokito Narsingdi.

The event took place this afternoon at Narsingdi Municipal Park, where 50 underprivileged and street children participated. Each child was served a plate beautifully arranged with traditional fruits such as mango, blackberry, lychee, jackfruit, water apple, and palm pulp.

The event was presided over by the founding president of the organization, Abdul Al Mamun Russell. Motahar Hossain Onik, Chairman of Nobodhara Education Family, Haradhor Das, General Secretary of SUJAN – Citizens for Good Governance Narsingdi District Committee, Md. Zainal Abedin, former treasurer of Narsingdi Press Club, Goshtolal Das, Senior Vice President of the organization and Ashikul Islam Ashik, its Organizational Secretary attended it, among others.

Speakers at the event said, “For over a decade, Alokito Narsingdi has stood by street and underprivileged children. They provide support during Eid with new clothes, vermicelli, sugar, and cash. This time, they brought smiles to the children’s faces with local fruits. Such humanitarian initiatives will continue in the future.”
