BOGURA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) – One person was killed and at least four others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Bogura’s Gabtoli upazila this evening.

The deceased has been identified as Saiful Islam Moti, 60, son of the late Mojibur Rahman of Thanthania area in Bogura city.
 
The injured include Rubia Islam Beauty, 55, Md. Tipu Sultan, 45, and Alamgir Hossain Alam, 42 — all residents of different areas within Bogura district.

The accident occurred around 5:45 PM near Chakbochai Bazar, according to local police.

Officer-in-Charge of Gabtoli Model Police Station, Serajul Haque, confirmed the incident and said that the auto rickshaw, which was heading out of Gabtoli, collided head-on with an oncoming truck.

“Five passengers of the CNG were critically injured in the crash,” he said.

All the injured were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Saiful Islam Moti dead, OC added.

The condition of two of the injured remains critical, he said.

The truck involved in the collision has been seized and legal proceedings in this incident are underway,” the OC added.
