One more Covid-19 patients died in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 21, 2025 (BSS) - One more person died of COVID-19 while three new cases were detected in the last 24 hours after testing 67 samples in Chattogram district, health officials said today.

With the latest fatality, the death toll from the virus in the district has risen to nine.

The deceased was identified as Mujibur Rahman, 55, a resident of the city's Bayezid thana. He died on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at Chattogram General Hospital, said a press release issued by the Civil Surgeon's Office.

With the newly detected cases, the total number of coronavirus infections in the district rose to 217 in the past one month, said Dr Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, while talking to BSS.

He said COVID-19 tests are currently being conducted at 11 laboratories, including Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Among the infected, 195 are residents of Chattogram city while the remaining 22 belong to different upazilas of the district.

Currently, 27 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment at various designated hospitals in the city, Dr Jahangir added.
