World Tiger Day observed in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT July 29, 2025 (BSS) – The World Tiger Day was observed in Sharankhola upazila of the district through various programmes today.

The day was observed in Sharankhola Range with the theme of “Increase in Tiger Population, Prosperity of the Sundarbans”. 

More than hundred students from five schools adjacent to the Sundarbans participated in a painting competition, discussion meeting and rally at Sundarban Secondary School at noon.

Assistant Conservator of Forests of Sharankhola Range Rana Dev was present at the function as the chief guest while the headmaster of Sundarban Secondary School Md. Asaduzzaman was the special guest. 

Forest department staff, local people, members of the Village Tiger Response Team engaged in tiger conservation and members of the Community Patrolling Team participated in the event.
