CHANDPUR, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries Department and Coast Guards in a drive seized 1,800 kgs of shrimps with jelly-like substances in their bodies from Derra fish market under Hajiganj upazila of the district today.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Sadar Upazila Fisheries Department and Coast Guard conducted a drive at the fish market from 5 am to 10 am and seized the shrimps, said Sadar upazila senior fisheries officer Mirza Omar Faruk.

In the afternoon, the seized shrimp were brought to the Coast Guard Chandpur Station and destroyed.
