LALMONIRHAT, July 30, 2025 (BSS) - A carpenter was electrocuted and three others were injured while repairing the tin roof of a house at Bhelabari village under Aditmari upazila of the district this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jamini Kanta Roy, 40, son of late Hedal Chandra Roy of Sabdal village under Sarpukur union in the same upazila.
The accident occurred when a team of carpenters was repairing old tin sheets of a house. During the work, a tin sheet accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire, resulting in Jamini Kanta Roy being electrocuted on the spot.
Three other carpenters sustained injuries while attempting to rescue him. They were given first aid locally.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aditmari Police Station Ali Akbar confirmed the incident and said necessary legal steps are being taken in this regard.
