DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari has underscored the need to harness the potential of young people to build a safer, more inclusive, and sustainable future for the region.

He made the remark while addressing a seminar as the chief guest, jointly organized by the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and the Department of Global Studies and Governance of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in the capital on Wednesday, said a press release today.

At the seminar, the Ambassador highlighted the critical role of youth in driving transformation, both nationally and in bolstering Bangladesh-Nepal bilateral ties.

He termed the 'youth bulge' in both Bangladesh and Nepal a strategic asset, urging policymakers and institutions to empower the younger generation to act as catalysts for change.
Ambassador Bhandari also pointed to the growing involvement of youth in areas such as policy development, digital innovation, climate action, and social justice.

He stressed the importance of nurturing entrepreneurship and grassroots innovation as both countries prepare for their upcoming graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category.

"Supporting youth-led initiatives will be a key to ensuring sustained progress and resilient growth in the post-LDC era," the ambassador said.

Officials, academics, and students from both institutions participated in the seminar, exchanging views on the role of youth in regional cooperation and sustainable development.
