RANGPUR, Aug 1, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued a kidnapped adolescent girl of Lalmonirhat and arrested the main accused from the Lal Kharu area under Fatullah Police Station of Narayanganj district.
The arrested kidnapper is Md Ekramul Haque, 22, son of Noor Mohammad of village Goddimari under Hatibandha Police Station of Lalmonirhat district, said a press release issued here today.
On a tip off, a joint team of the RAB-13 and RAB-11's Narayanganj Camp conducted a raid in the Lal Kharu area under Fatullah Police Station of Narayanganj, arrested the main accused and rescued the victim at 10:40 pm on Thursday.
The elite force has handed over the arrested accused and the rescued victim girl to Hatibandha Police Station in Lalmonirhat.
Earlier, the arrested person along with his accomplices forcibly kidnapped a teenage girl from the same village on June 22, 2025 at 8 pm, when she came out of her house amidst hot and humid weather and power outages.
Later, the victim's father filed a kidnapping case with Hatibandha Police Station in this incident on June 25, 2025.
