Madrasha student dies from snakebite in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) - A madrasha student died from a snakebite at Bala Shaheed Hafezia Madrasa under Porsha upazila of the district early this morning.

The deceased was Abdur Rahim, 8, son of Alamgir Hossain, a resident of Bala Shaheed village under Nitpur union of the upazila. He was a student of the Bala Shaheed Hafezia Madrasa.

Another child named Mahmudullah was injured in the same incident. 

A snake bit the students while they were sleeping in their room at the madrasha.

Both of them were admitted to Porsha Upazila Health Complex where Abdur Rahim died while undergoing treatment. 

Mahmudullah was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Officer-in-Charge of Porsha Police Station Mintu Rahman confirmed the matter.
