7-day free veterinary medical camp launched in Jhalokathi

JHALOKATHI, Sep 9, 2025 (BSS) – The Department of Livestock Services (DLS) today launched a seven-day veterinary medical camp in Jhalokathi district for providing vaccines and veterinary training free of cost. 
  
Deputy Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman inaugurated the veterinary medical camp on the Gabkhan ground in the sadar upazila of the district.

District Livestock Official Dr. Asaduzzaman presided over the inaugural programme where Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Kawsar Hassan and officials from different relevant departments, among others, were present.

Dr. Asaduzzaman said, “Under the PPR eradication and Foot-and-Mouth Disease control project, 30,000 Taka has been allocated to check diseases of goats and sheep in eight upazilas of the district.” 

Cattle will also be vaccinated against anthrax, black quarter and hemorrhagic septicemia, he said adding, “We have adequate allotment for providing treatment facilities to domestic animals.”
