KHULNA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - A medical officer of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) was killed and another person injured in a tragic road accident at Avoynagar upazila in Jashore last night.

The deceased was identified as Dr Saiful Islam, 46, son of Sirazul Islam, a resident of Ghop Jail Road in Jashore city.

Sub-Inspector Azizul Bari of Noapara Highway Police Station said the accident occurred around 8 pm in the Alipur Alamdanga area under Avoynagar upazila on the Jashore-Khulna Highway, when two motorcycles collided head-on.

Dr Saiful and another motorcyclist, Rana, were critically injured and rushed to Avoynagar Health Complex, where the on-duty physician declared Dr Saiful dead. Rana was admitted to the health complex in critical condition.

Police said Dr Saiful was on his way to KMCH from his residence at the time of the accident.
