15,000 meters of banned current net seized from Halda River

CHATTOGRAM (North), Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - Naval Police in a drive today seized 15,000 meters of banned current net from the Halda River, a natural fish breeding ground. 

The net was seized from Halda River of Ramdash Munshir Hat area under
Hathazari upazila at 12:30 pm.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chattogram Sadarghat Naval Police Mizanur Rahman told BSS that 15,000 meters of banned current net were seized during a drive in the Halda River at noon. 

The estimated market value of the net is Taka 4.5 lakh. The seized nets were burned and destroyed in front of the local people. Such operations will continue to protect the mother fish, he said.
