Tourist goes missing while taking bath at Jaflong

SYLHET, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) – Tourist went missing yesterday (10 September) while taking a bath in the river at  Jaflong in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet District.
 
The missing has been identified as Abu Sufian (26), son of Abdul Haque of Shingpur village in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet district.
 
He was a computer mechanic by profession. Officer-in-charge Md.Tariqul Islam of Gowainghat thana told BSS that “Police along with the diving team are conducting rescue operation to find him out”.
 
Russel Ahmed, friend of Sufian, said, “We along with Sufian were taking bath in the river . . . but Sufian went missing in the strong current of the river. We could not find him even after several attempts”.
