RANGPUR, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested prime accused in the auto-rickshaw driver Raiful Islam murder case in Lalmonirhat from Dhaka city on Wednesday (September 10).

The arrestee was identified as Md Mahfuzar Rahman Mamun, 42, son of Md Ayub Ali of village Uttar Dolgram under Kaliganj Police Station of Lalmonirhat district, a press release said today.

Quoting the statement of the murder case filed at Hatibandha police station in this incident, the release said that the victim auto rickshaw driver went missing on August 18, 2025.

The victim's body was found on the Swati River, east of Jambari Para, under Hatibandha police station of Lalmonirhat district, at around 11 am on August 20, 2025
 
Then the victim's mother filed a murder case with Hatibandha police station of Lalmonirhat on the same day in this connection.

On a tip off, a joint operational team of the RAB-13’s the Crime Prevention Specialised Company and RAB-4’s Mirpur Camp conducted a drive and arrested the accused from the capital city at 3:30 pm on Wednesday.
