Schoolgirl dies from snakebite in Madaripur

MADARIPUR, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) - A madrasa student died from snakebite at Purba Baligram village under Dasar upazila of Madaripur district last night.

The deceased was Limi Akhter, 13, daughter of Anwar Hossain of the village and a student of a local madrasa. 

A poisonous snake bit the girl when she was sitting in an open space near her house.

Hearing her screams, family members rushed to the spot and took her to Madaripur General Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dasar Police Station Sheikh Md. Ehteshamul Islam.
