CHATTOGRAM, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) – The second day of the five-day Sharadiya Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community, was celebrated today in the city and other parts of the district with festivity, joy, and enthusiasm.

A large number of Hindu devotees were seen gathering at various puja mandaps to offer prayers.

Devotees from all walks of life visited J M Sen Hall, Ramkrishna Mission, Hazari Lane, Sadarghat Kalibari, Krishno Kumari, Patharghat, and Goashil Danga — the most attractive puja mandaps in the city — to perform their Saptami Puja this morning.

Cultural functions and a discussion meeting were held at 4 pm today on the premises of J M Sen Hall with the participation of devotees.

“A five-tier security measure has been implemented during the Durga Puja festival to ensure that the religious carnival is celebrated with festivity and religious fervor,” said Advocate Nikil Das, General Secretary of Chattogram City Puja Udjapon Parishad.

He expressed satisfaction with the adequate arrangements and support from the administration for the peaceful celebration of the biggest religious festival.
