Special meeting held in Manikganj ahead of Durga Puja

MANIKGANJ, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) - A special views-exchange meeting was held yesterday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office in the district in preparation for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.

Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Hafiz, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor for Defence and National Solidarity Development Affairs, attended the event as the chief guest. During the program, he distributed cheques among Hindu devotees, funded by the Manikganj District Council, as part of the government's support for peaceful and inclusive celebrations.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manwar Hossein Malla, Superintendent of Police Mosammat Yasmin Khatun, other government officials, and leaders of the Puja Udjapan Parishad were also present at the event.

In his remarks, Abdul Hafiz praised Manikganj as a shining example of communal harmony. 

"The district truly reflects the spirit of unity among different religious communities," he said.

Following the meeting, the special assistant visited several Puja Mandaps across the district to observe preparations and engage with local communities.
