DHAKA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) – Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today called upon all concerned to remain alert against any attempt to disrupt peaceful and festive celebrations of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.

“You all should mobilise efforts so that the Durga Puja could be celebrated in a peaceful manner. Terrorists will be tried everywhere if they are out to disrupt the joyful celebrations of Durga Puja,” he said.

The Home Adviser made the remarks after visiting the Dhakeshwari National Temple at Old Dhaka this afternoon.

He said the terrorists created an incident in Khagrachhari district in a bid to disrupt the peaceful celebrations of the festival. “Activities of the terrorists have been foiled. The Durga Puja is now celebrating in the hilly areas in a better way,” he added.

Mentioning that the terrorists had patrons at home and abroad, he said, “The patrons are giving support from abroad. All have to work in unison to thwart their ill attempts”.

Replying to a query, the Home Adviser said they have taken measures to find out the terrorists. “Some of them have already been exposed to justice,” he added.

In this connection, he called upon the journalists to write news based on correct information. “Publish the objective news items, which help to eliminate the news based on incorrect information. Don’t report anything without scrutiny,” he said.
