More enthusiasm among worshippers for performing puja this year: Faruk-e-Azam

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) - Liberation War Adviser Faruk-e-Azam (Bir Pratik) emphasized that Durga Puja is not tied to any specific religion rather it is a universal festival that is celebrated by people from various backgrounds.
 
He noted that there is a heightened sense of enthusiasm among worshippers participating in the puja festival this year. 
 
He also mentioned that the government, in collaboration with the administration, is actively working to ensure that the Durga Puja celebrations are organized smoothly and beautifully.
 
The advisor shared these views with journalists during his visit to the J.M. Sen Hall Puja Mandap in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Faruk-e-Azam emphasized the importance of preserving images of worship from various puja mandaps on mobile and other media to create a collective picture. 

He highlighted the government's efforts to address key issues such as education, health, law and order, and the economy. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a fair environment for all during the Durga puja celebrations.
 
Regarding the upcoming national election in February, the advisor expressed optimism about the participation of all citizens in the electoral process. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling civic duties and highlighted the potential for a new government to be formed through the democratic process, with the support of the people.
 
“It is crucial for us to fulfill our civic duty by voting for our chosen candidate. The government elected through this process will work towards fulfilling our aspirations, and we all aim to create a non-communal and prosperous Bangladesh together," he emphasized.
 
“During my visit to the puja mandap in North Chattogram, I witnessed the enthusiasm and unity among the people regarding the upcoming elections, indicating that the elections will be conducted in a festive atmosphere in the days ahead. The administration and other organizations are working diligently towards this goal,” he added.
 
Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Acting President of Puja Udjapan Parishad Chattogram city Professor Arpan Kanti Banerjee, Acting General Secretary Advocate Nikhil Kumar Nath, and senior officials of the administration were present at the event.
