Dogs, cats get rabies vaccine in Nalchhiti

JHALOKATI, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) – Hundreds of dogs and cats were vaccinated in the Nalchhiti area of the district today under the arrangement of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Nalchhiti upazila, and the Upazila Veterinary Hospital.

Nalchhiti Upazila Nirbahi Officer Lovely Yesmin, Upazila DLS Officer Abu Saleh Md Ifad Ishtiaq, Veterinary Surgeon Dr Subrata Shikder and Deputy DLS Officer Monowar Hossain, among others, were present at the event.

Abu Saleh said rabies is a deadly disease that can spread through animal bites or scratches. Therefore, dogs and cats have been vaccinated to prevent rabies, he added.
