MANIKGANJ, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - One person was killed and two others injured in a road accident on Manikganj-Hemayetpu Regional Highway last night.

The deceased was identified as Mahin, 22 son of Abdul Mannan of Degirchar of Gopinathpur Union of Harirampur Upazila in the district. 

Officer -in-Charge (OC) Singair Police Station JOM Toufiq Aziz said the accident occurred at about 9:00 pm on Tuesday when a Dhaka bound speedy truck collided head-on a Manikganj bound CNG leaving one person killed on the spot and critically injured two others.

The injured are Ratna, 20 sister of the deceased and driver of the CNG Rupchand. Locals rescued the injured and took to the Singair Upazila Health Complex. But the doctor referred them to the Dhaka Shahid Sahrarwardy Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

The driver of the truck managed to fee with the truck, the OC added.
The body of the deceased was sent to Manikganj 250 hospital for autopsy.
