Breast cancer awareness campaign begins in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) – A month-long breast cancer awareness program was launched in Chattogram today.

City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated the program at 11 am at the Chattogram Medical College premises.

Following the inauguration, a grand procession led by the Mayor commenced from Chattogram Medical College Hospital and concluded at BMA Bhaban at GEC Crossing, passing through various significant city streets.

In his address as the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain stressed that awareness efforts should not be limited to women alone, urging men to actively participate in preventing breast cancer by supporting women wholeheartedly.

During October, free breast cancer screening and counseling services will be provided for women at the CSCR, located at Prabortak Moro in the city, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Registered patients will receive a 50% discount on relevant tests.

Additionally, the Center for Specialized Care (CSCR) will provide free treatment to 10 breast cancer patients, as recommended by Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain. 
CSCR and PGS Academia have partnered with CCC to implement this program.

Jasim Uddin, Vice-Principal Professor Abdur Rob, CSCR Chairman Dr. Khurshid Jamil Chowdhury, and its Managing Director Dr. Morsedul Karim Chowdhury, among others, were present.
