CHAPAINABABGANJ, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Chairperson's Adviser Professor Md Shahjahan Miah today said that BNP has always worked for communal harmony and will continue to do so.

“The future Bangladesh, under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, will be a country of harmony and democracy,” he said.

The BNP leader made the remarks while inspecting various Puja mandaps within the parliamentary constituency Chapainawabganj-1 (Shibganj) municipal area.

Shahjahan Miah outlined a vision where people of all faiths—Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian—will unite to build the future of Bangladesh.

About the matter of national identity, he stressed that although the religions are separate, the nationhood is one.

He stated that identifying as Hindu, Muslim, or Christian is not the major identity.

Instead, he affirmed, “Our real identity is we are all Bangladeshi, where there is no religious wall, no division.”

He pledged that all evil forces would be defeated through the unified efforts of the BNP, its affiliated organizations, and democracy-loving citizens.

During his visits to the temples in the municipal area for the Sharadiya Durga Puja, Shahjahan Mia exchanged greetings with the devotees of Sanatan Dharma.
