KHULNA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Zulfiqar Ali Haider has called upon all citizens to uphold law and order through collective responsibility and cooperation.
"If truck drivers and traders operate in accordance with the law, the city's traffic system will become more disciplined and safer," he said while addressing a views-exchange meeting as the chief guest in Khulna city on Tuesday night.
The meeting focused on maintaining law and order, combating drug abuse, ensuring disciplined vehicular movement, and promoting fair business practices. It was jointly organized by the Khulna Divisional Truck Workers' Union and the Kitchen Market Wholesale Traders' Association.
Reiterating the police department's zero-tolerance policy against drugs and irregularities, Commissioner Haider urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and abide by the law.
"We want to transform Khulna into a city where business is transparent, transportation is regulated, and citizens feel safe," the KMP Commissioner added.
During the event, leaders from both the Truck Workers' Union and the Traders' Association shared their concerns and suggestions.
KMP Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Sudarshan Kumar Roy, along with other officials and leaders of the organizing bodies, were also present at the programme.
