Over 5.27 lakh children to get typhoid vaccines in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 5,27,988 lakh children will be brought under typhoid vaccination coverage in nine upazilas of the district.

This information was given at a district-level consultation meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday morning. 

Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan Mollah was present at the meeting as the chief guest while district senior information officer Mozammel Hossain presided over it.

Civil Surgeon Mahmudul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police Azmir Hossain, UNICEF Barishal Division Chief Anwar Hossain and Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office Al Amin Sarwar were present.

The vaccination campaign will start from October 12 under the government's EPI programme. All children aged 9 months to 15 years and students from pre-primary to grade 9 will be given one dose of typhoid vaccine. 

If the child has a fever, the vaccine will not be given until he or she is completely recovered.
