CHATTOGRAM, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) - Seven persons were injured when a bus overturned in the Chunati Jangalia area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Lohagara upazila of the district last night.

According to Fire Service sources, a passenger bus lost control on its way from Cox's Bazar to Kushtia, overturned on the highway, and hit a tree around 11:30 pm on Thursday. Upon being informed, Fire Service personnel, with the assistance of locals, rescued the injured and took them to a hospital.

Fire Service Lohagara Station Officer Azadul Islam said seven people sustained injuries in the accident. Vehicle movement remained halted for approximately an hour during the rescue operation.

Police seized the vehicle; however, the driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
