AED distributes free seeds, fertilizers to 870 farmers

BAGERHAT, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS)- Agricultural Extension Department (AED) has launched an agricultural incentive given programme here today.  


Under the programme seeds and fertilizers will be distributed among small and marginal farmers in 7 unions of Chitalmari upazila.


With the support the AED aims to increase the production of wheat, mung bean, mustard, sunflower and khesari in the Rabi season of 2025-26 fiscal year.


Under the programme 20 farmers were given wheat seeds, 350 people will be given mustard oil, sunflower (OP) seeds to 30 people, sunflower (hybrid) to 200 people, khesari to 70 people and mug bean to 200 people.

Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and President of Upazila Agricultural Rehabilitation Implementation Committee Sajjad Hossain inaugurated the programme today.

Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Habibur Rahman and officials from various upazila offices were present.
