DMP files 1,583 cases against traffic rules violations

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – As part of the ongoing campaign to bring traffic system under control, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,583 cases against vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that the DMP traffic division conducted campaign against traffic breakers during the last one day and filed the cases.

He said that the DMP traffic police dumped 336 motor vehicles and towed 114 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on October 29.

The release further said that campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

During drives, Motijheel traffic division filed 307 cases, Wari division registered 122 cases, Tejgaon division filed 237 cases, Mirpur division filed 230 cases, Gulshan division filed 224 cases, Uttara division registered 231 cases, Ramna division filed 71 cases and Lalbagh division registered 161 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
