BR realizes Tk 8.77 lakh fine, fare from 4,733 ticketless passengers

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Railway (BR) has realized a total of Taka 877,175 fare and fine from 4,733 passengers travelling without tickets in a one-day drive conducted on 146 trains. 

The information was disclosed today in a post on Bangladesh Railway's verified Facebook page.

According to the post, during Wednesday's drive in the East Zone, a total of 98 travelling ticket examiners (TTEs) worked across 69 trains. They detected 2,034 ticketless passengers. 

From this drive, Taka 293,875 was collected as fare and Taka 130,875 as fines, amounting to a total Railway income of Taka 424,750. In addition, 2,521 tickets were verified that day.

Meanwhile, in the West Zone, a total of 88 TTEs worked across 77 trains, where 2,699 ticketless passengers were detected. From this drive, Taka 321,810 was collected as fare and Taka 130,615 as fines, totaling Taka 452,425 in Railway income. Besides, 1,791 tickets were verified on that day.
