44 detained countrywide in week-long joint forces operation: ISPR

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 44 crime suspects have been detained across the country during operations conducted by the joint forces from November 20 to November 27.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today, the joint operations were conducted by units under various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, across the capital and other parts of the country.

During these operations, a total of 44 crime suspects including terrorists, drug peddlers, drug addicts, robbers, members of juvenile gangs, smugglers and thieves were caught red-handed, it said.

The release stated that 13 illegal firearms, 14 rounds of various ammunition, 25 crude bombs (cocktails), 16 petrol bombs, both local and foreign drugs, as well as local and foreign sharp weapons were also recovered from their possession. 

The detainees have been handed over to the respective local police stations for necessary interrogation and legal action.
