Fires at Dilu Road high-rise, Tejgaon shanty doused within minutes

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - Firefighters quickly extinguished two separate blazes in the capital tonight, with no casualties reported.

Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) duty officer Rakibul Hasan told BSS that the first fire broke out around 7:18 pm in a room on the eighth floor of a nine-storey residential building on Dilu Road. Two fire engines brought the blaze under control by 7:40 pm.

A second fire erupted in a shanty adjacent to the Tejgaon Railway Crossing at 8:55 pm. Two firefighting vehicles reached the scene around 9 pm and doused the flames by 9:05 pm.

Officials said the causes of both fires were not immediately known.
